Lawn Sprinkler System and Watering Tips

A lawn sprinkler system provides the time saving function of watering a lawn without much strenuous effort on the home or property owner’s part. Now, while there is a lessening of duties on the owner’s part as it relates to many of the physical duties, there still needs to be a little homework down of the individual’s part as, while a lawn sprinkler system provides a valuable duty, the application of those duties properly is what makes the system so effective.

Far too many people feel that simply turning a lawn sprinkler system on and letting it water the lawn is enough. This is not entirely accurate as while the lawn sprinkler system delivers the water to the grass, it does not realize when, where, and what is enough in terms of delivering the H2O.

One must familiarize oneself with the common basic principles of watering a lawn and understanding the proper water to deliver water to grass in order to maximize benefits.

A lawn should be watered as early in the morning as possible. If it is watered to late in the day or afternoon, there is a great risk of the water evaporating. Water that has evaporated can not help a lawn. Furthermore, the depletion of the water by evaporation keeps the water that is remaining from reaching the roots properly. Watering at night, however, is most unwise as well because it can lead to a gross fungus developing on the grass. Some evaporation is fine, too much is bad, none is even worse.

A lawn sprinkler system will greatly impact the deliver of water to a lawn, but if the deliver exacerbates improper watering, then there will be no positives to the system’s inclusion.  Would that not defeat the purpose of purchasing it in the first place? Stick to the proper basics and avoid calamities.
